THE winner of last year’s West Oxfordshire photography competition is urging people to have a go.
Self-employed business coach Peter Young, 52, from Long Hanborough, beat 117 entries to win the competition, which is run by West Oxfordshire District Council.
The amateur photographer, pictured above with his winning photo of the bridge in Blenheim Park, said: “I was just inspired on the day to get out to Blenheim and take a photo because the light was perfect.
“The autumn colours were amazing. But my wife was quite cross because I was meant to be working.
“I would definitely encourage people to enter.”
The district council hopes entries will capture life in the area, from quiet Cotswold scenery to bustling market towns.
The winner will get a canvas print of their image, which could be used to promote the district.
To enter, call 01993 861553 or visit oxfordshirecotswolds.org/photos before Friday, April 27.
