PUPILS were encouraged to make a mark on their school – by creating a graffiti wall.
Children at Chipping Norton School, in Burford Road, worked with graffiti artist Graham Meads to decorate the wall.
The after-school activity culminated in a street festival, with pupils showing off their skateboarding, BMX, street dance and football juggling skills.
PE teacher Luke Robinson helped to organise the event.
He said: “We came up with the idea to celebrate street culture and the positive side of it, as opposed to the negative side.
“The children have absolutely loved it. We have had some pupils who have been superstars. There have been pupils that are maybe not the most academic, sporty or good at drama, but they have really excelled in graffiti art.”
A video was made of the project which will be shown on the school’s website.
