CUTE alert!

Tiny dancers from Babyballet Witney had to swap their shoes for wellies as they showed off their moves at a slightly damp Witney in Pink yesterday.

The ten tiny toddlers, all aged between two and four, gave a performance for cooing mums and dads in Witney High Street as part of the fundraising day in pink.

School franchise owner Charlotte Russell said: "The sun came out just as we started to dance – although some of our little dancers were still wearing their welly boots."

The 16th annual Witney in Pink was opened by town mayor Chris Holliday in High Street at 10am and carried on with live entertainment until 5pm.

Fundraisers armed with blushing balloons lined Witney High Street, selling an array of pink ornaments and knick-knacks in aid of Abingdon-based charity Against Breast Cancer.

Among the entertainers helping to raise funds were three generations of family belly dancers.

Grandmother Christine Clements, daughter Jo Launchbury and granddaughter Eleanor Launchbury performed an oriental routine in fuschia on Witney High Street.

Mrs Clements said: "We have always raised for breast cancer because we are all women and we've all got 'em.

"It's a lovely atmosphere today, it always is.

"It's the first thing goes in our calendar every year Witney in Pink."

Shake Shop owner Debbie Shake set up a fundraising stall in front of her shop and dressed for the occasion.

She said: "We love Witney in Pink. Hopefully we will raise lots of pennies today.

"We raised about £200 last year. This is the first time since we have been here it has rained but it's still absolutely lovely the amount of people here."

Organiser Jeanne Chattoe said: "It's still going really well despite the rain."

She added: "People are so supportive. I think it's phenomenal the amount of people that do join in and the support we get is just amazing."

Live entertainment this afternoon will include local bands, musicians and dancers.
