A GROUP of women in Witney is calling on the public for help as they set out to knit fluffy goods all year round for charity.

The Nutty Knitters have been meeting every Friday for the past six years and always make sure everything they create goes to a good cause.

In the past the group has sent items to poverty-stricken children in Africa and to the special care baby unit at the Horton Hospital in Banbury.

Member Molly Barlow said: “We are looking to raise money so we can carry on with what we’re doing. We have to buy the yarn for people to knit with.”

The group meets at Edington House on the Deer Park estate every Friday from noon to 3pm.
