BROTHERS Benjamin and Oliver Dunkel were among those who joined in the fun at the centuries-old Witney Feast yesterday.

The fair in The Leys, which will finish tonight, features fairground rides, candy floss, food and drink and a range of stalls.

Benjamin, three, and Oliver, four, went to the event with mum Hannah Pratley.

Oliver said: “We went on the jungle fun house at the back of the feast with mummy. It was fun.

“We shared a bag of candy floss at the end of the day.”

The Air fairground ride – which swings, spins and loops 100 feet off the ground and is the only one of its kind in England – is among the attractions at the feast.

The feast was first held in 1243 when King Henry III granted two deer from the Royal Forest of Wychwood to celebrate the rededication of St Mary’s Church in Witney.

Organiser Emily Wilson, who has been to the feast for more than 60 years, said: “It has started well considering the weather. There are lots of new attractions.”
