THREE lanes of the A40 at Barnard Gate have reopened after an earlier crash involving a lorry and three cars.

Motorists are still delayed after the incident between Cuckoo Lane and the B4022, High Cogges.

The road was reopened westbound at 3.35pm after the lorry, which struck the central reservation, was cleared.

One lane of the eastbound carriageway has also reopened but one lane remains closed to allow the barrier to be repaired.

South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Catherine Munro said the service was called at 1.03pm to the crash, involving a lorry and three cars.

She said a man, believed to be the driver of the lorry, was treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Francine Rodrigues said the road remained blocked while the lorry is recovered.

She added: “Hopefully it will be up and running as soon as they have the road cleared.”
