A driver was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford with a leg injury following an accident on the A44 at Chipping Norton yesterday.
Two fire engines from Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue service were called to the accident in London Road at 4.07pm after a car reportedly hit a tree.
A spokeswoman said firefighters found one person trapped and used hydraulic rescue equipment to free them.
The patient was taken to hospital by South Central Ambulance Service and firefighters left the scene at 4.35pm.
The A44 was blocked in both directions around Summerton Place.
