HUNDREDS of runners took part in yesterday’s annual Ascott-under-Wychwood Charity Run.

Starting at the village’s Recreation Ground, in High Street, the runners took part in either 5k or 10k courses to raise money for local good causes.

Will Downey, of Barrington Close in Witney, took his eight-year-old son Wyatt.

He successfully completed the 5k course in 37 minutes and 30 seconds.

The 33-year-old said: “It was brilliant. It was his first 5k race and it cost me two cupcakes and an extra Yorkshire Pudding to get him through it.

“It was really good fun and very well organised.”
