PHILEAS Fogg begins a journey around the world – and two of West Oxfordshire’s village halls – today at The Theatre in Chipping Norton.

The Theatre and the Oxfordshire Theatre Company (OTC) have joined forces for a new production of Jules Verne’s classic adventure story Around the World in 80 Days.

After a short residence in Chipping Norton, the play will tour venues around Oxfordshire and further afield.

Richard Hurst, who plays Phileas Fogg, said: “It has been so much fun. In rehearsals we’re running round with all sorts of props creating cars, boats and trains out of our bodies. And we know the audiences will bring along their imaginations and feel really involved.”
