Seeing how the breadwinners made their dough

FAMILIES often had little idea what their breadwinners did at work.

So Nuffield Press at Cowley would hold occasional open days so that they could find out.

Family members would be invited to the company’s premises to see at first hand the work that was done. These pictures show two groups who took advantage of the firm’s invitation.

They come from a large collection belonging to John Blake, a retired director, who lives at Appleton.

Nuffield Press was founded in 1925 by William Morris, later Lord Nuffield, to produce publicity material for his Cowley-built cars.
