Lily Denton gets into the spooky spirit with a painted witch in Pottering About at Blenheim Palace
BLENHEIM Palace is getting into the spirit of the spooky season with ghoulish events to celebrate Halloween.
Youngsters are able to hunt for witches and wizards in a trail through the pleasure gardens, listen to ghostly stories at the weekends and take part in a spooky tour of the Woodstock stately home during the week.
On Sunday, the events started with a Halloween-theme pottery painting session from Wantage-based firm Pottering About.
Bloxham resident Juliet Long’s took part in the events with her niece Lily Denton, seven.
She said: “It was really good. Lily enjoyed doing the pottery painting and it was great fun going around and finding all the witches and wizards.
“Although the weather wasn’t great it was still worth going and it was good for the kids.”
Lily said: “I really liked trying to find the witches and wizards because it was fun to run around a lot.
“There was lots of different things to do. I loved it.”
Pottering About owner Marcella Connolly said: “It was very good.
“We have been coming for seven years now and we have customers that have been pottery painting with me every year.
“It is just really nice seeing new people and existing customers but the most enjoyment I get is seeing children go away really happy because they have created something and they can take it home.”
The Halloween event will run at Blenheim Palace until November 4. For more information, visit blenheimpalace.com
