Artist takes her inspiration from The Ridgeway
12:00pm Wednesday 5th September 2012 in Wantage
Anna Dillon
WALLINGFORD-BORN artist Anna Dillon has created a series of paintings inspired by the popular 87-mile Ridgeway trail.
The paintings are about to be displayed at two exhibitions in the area, in Wantage and Goring.
The 24 paintings in the series took the artist three years to complete.
Ms Dillon, 40, said: “I was born in Wallingford in 1972 and these exhibitions represent my ambition to capture the spirit of this beautiful English countryside in a series of paintings.
“The Ridgeway is steeped in history and my collection celebrates the diversity of this landscape painted from a variety of viewpoints.”
The exhibitions are at Art@Goring in Goring-on-Thames, from this Saturday to Saturday, September 22, and at The Vale and Downland Museum in Wantage, from Tuesday, October 2, until Saturday, October 27.
