WANTAGE student Thomas Salt yesterday celebrated getting amongst the highest results in the county.

The 18-year-old received five A* grades in Greek, physics, chemistry, maths and further maths.

He celebrated with fellow students from the Abingdon School and said he planned to relax now the results were through.

He said: “I’m over the moon and ready to celebrate.”

Mr Salt will start his maths degree at Oxford University in October.

Headteacher Felicity Lusk said: “Results like these do not come easily and represent years of hard work from boys and staff and support from their families.

“Many congratulations to all the boys, their families and the Abingdon staff.”
