A teenage boy was taken to hospital earlier after an air ambulance landed near King Alfred's school in Wantage.
Thames Valley Policed confirmed it was a fear for welfare incident, in which a teenage boy was taken to hospital.
South Central Ambulance Service was called just before 1.30pm and a Thames Valley Air Ambulance attended along with a road ambulance.
The helicopter landed in fields off Springfield Road just before 2pm.
The boy – who is not thought to be a pupil at King Alfred's school – was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital.
King Alfred's School was closed today for an inset day.
