Driver's prison term is extended
11:20am Saturday 21st April 2012 in Wallingford
A driver who caused the death of a bride-to-be has been jailed for a further four months.
Marcus Barney, 27, was jailed for seven years in 2007 for causing the death of Carol Tegg, 26, near Woodcote, days before her wedding.
But he fled to Australia in 2009, while on temporary leave from prison. He was arrested in New South Wales last July after being caught speeding and was extradited to the UK this week.
As well as the extra four months’ sentence imposed by magistrates in Derby, Barney will have to serve the remaining 450 days of his original sentence.

Is it possible to fly to Oz in this day & age without the computer showing relevant details whilst airline staff are entering boarding info ?
7 years means that he should have been in jail until 2014 , less time for good behaviour ! Are they serious about him only serving out 450days for killing a woman and then " Thumbing his nose at Authority "?
Checkout www.thecyclingsilk.b
logspot.com and see how lenient the CPS is towards drivers that kill !
Commit the crime , do the TIME ! Is the CPS going to appeal this leniency ?
