HUNDREDS of modelling enthusiasts descended on Cholsey yesterday, for one of Oxfordshire's largest annual displays.
A dozen miniature steam engines travelled from the railway station to Cholsey Primary School, where model trains, planes, and cars were all on display.
For the first time, the annual Model Mania show included a 1:4 scale tank, an aircraft carrier, and a ride-on railway.
Organiser George Crockett said: “The whole day went very, very well.
“Exhibitors came from all around the area, filling all the classrooms in the school, the main hall, and the field. I was a bit worried that the number of German tanks outnumbered the British, but we did not get attacked.”
The event raised money for the school’s PTA and Cholsey 1000 Plus community group.
