Pensioner treated after blanket fire

A woman pensioner from Wallingford needed treatment from paramedics after her electric blanket caught fire during the early hours today.

Fire crews were called to her home in St Lucian’s Lane shortly before 2am and tackled the small fire in the first-floor flat.

Paramedics treated the woman at her home and a spokesman for the fire service said she was not seriously hurt.
