A VULNERABLE man who went missing last night has been found after police enlisted the public's help.

William Asher was located this morning after Thames Valley Police appealed for information.

The 80-year-old, who has dementia, went missing at 8pm yesterday from Cholsey near Wallingford.

Police had encouraged residents in the area to check their cars, sheds, outhouses and any places of shelter that Mr Asher might have sought refuge in overnight.

Residents on the Cholsey Village public Facebook page reported hearing police helicopters searching for him overnight, and also urged people to check their gardens.

An updated statement released by police at 10.30am said: "William Asher who went missing from Cholsey yesterday has been since been located.

"Thank you to everyone for sharing our appeal."
