THE owners of a scandal-hit care home have sold it to new owners.

The directors of Winterbrook Nursing Home in Cholsey said they felt 'the time was right' as they were approaching retirement.

Three former members of staff were charged with ill treatment or wilful neglect this month and are due to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court on April 10.

Elizabeth Collins, 61, of Kynaston Road, Didcot, has been charged with three counts of ill treatment/wilful neglect of an individual and six counts of breaching a care provider’s duty of care resulting in ill treatment/neglect of an individual.

Mary Craddock, 59, of Egerton Road, Wallingford, has been charged with five counts of ill treatment/wilful neglect of an individual.

Joan Lovell, 63, of St Leonard’s Lane, Wallingford, has been charged with three counts of ill treatment/wilful neglect of an individual.

The home was bought by Wallingford Care Ltd, which runs other local homes.
