PUPILS at a primary school that has more than doubled in size in the past three years are celebrating the opening of their new classroom.
The Bishop of Dorchester Colin Fletcher conducted a dedication and official opening of the new building at St Laurence Primary School in Warborough on Tuesday.
He is pictured outside the classroom with headteacher Nic Cooper and pupils Ben Vaughan, holding a brick, and Charlie Cooke, both 11.
Parents and supporters of the school sponsored bricks to help fund the classroom, which will provide much-needed space after the number of pupils increased to 87 from 41 only three years ago.
Bishop Colin said: “It is a lovely development and the school is thriving and growing rapidly at the moment.
“The extra classroom will benefit the pupils by the additional space but it also means they can be in year groups with their peers instead of years four, five and six together in a class.”
