Two people were hurt in a crash involving two lorries and a car on the M40 yesterday.

Drivers faced major delays on the southbound carriageway following the accident at about 6.15am at junction six, near Watlington.

Traffic tailed back for seven miles from junction eight, near Wheatley. One lane was blocked from about 6.30am and reopened at about 10.20am.

South Central Ambulance Service spokeswoman Michelle Archer said: “One person was taken to Wexham Park Hospital in Slough after suffering serious head injuries. The other patient, a man, was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with minor head injuries.”
