A THREE-year project encouraging less active residents to exercise has been launched in South Oxfordshire.
The Go Active Get Healthy scheme is offering free fitness check-ups for over-60s, senior swimming lessons, and exercise classes including table tennis, dance, tai chi, yoga and pilates.
The leader of South Oxfordshire District Council, Ann Ducker, said: “The Go Active Get Healthy project will help make physical activities more accessible to those who struggle to lead an active and healthy lifestyle.
"That’s a really positive thing for our whole community and hopefully it will lead to people feeling that they can get out and about more often.”
For further information about the classes, see southoxon.gov.uk/leisure or call South Oxfordshire District Council’s participation co-ordinator Nicola Meurer on 01491 823431.
It is funded by a National Lottery grant from Sport England and run by local authorities across the county, leisure providers and Oxford Brookes University.
