GARAGES in the Wallingford area are being asked to look out for a damaged silver VW Passat estate after the driver failed to stop at a crash.
Just before 10pm on Thursday, September 7, there was a crash between a motorbike and a car on the junction of the B4016 Lady Grove with the B4016 Sires Hill, near Didcot.
The car involved, a silver VW Passat estate, then sped off towards the Long Wittenham/Wallingford direction - failing to stop and exchange details with the bike rider.
The victim, a 41-year-old male motorcyclist, suffered a broken wrist and arm and was treated at hospital.
Police Constable James Mahony of the roads policing department said: "We would appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident and we are also appealing for local garages in the Wallingford and surrounding areas to make contact with police if they have a silver VW Passat estate car in being repaired with driver's side damage as the driver may be able to help us with our investigation."
Anyone with any information is asked to call police via 101 quoting ref 1669 7/9 or contact Crimestoppers anonymously.
Police have not yet confirmed which model Passat they are looking for. The picture above is for illustrative purposes only.
