A 92-YEAR-OLD woman missing from her home in East Hendred was found after a mass overnight search.

More than 60 people, including police officers and volunteers from Oxfordshire Lowland Search and Rescue (OxSAR) searched through the night after Lydia Burnett went missing from her home in the South Oxfordshire village on Sunday night.

OxSAR led the hunt after 13 of its volunteers responded to the late night call.

Chairman Jonathan Stevenson-Paul, said: “We were running the search with the assistance of the police and we had a good number of our volunteers even though the call came through just before midnight.

“We were mobilised a short while later and she was found very early in the morning."

Although he could not reveal specific details, Mr Stevenson-Paul said: “On our searches our incident control vehicle is brought to the rendezvous point and our search management team start working on how to plan the search, looking at geographical environment and missing person type - eg person with dementia, while the operations manager looks at the logistics.”
