THREE Oxfordshire kebab vendors have been nominated in this year’s British Kebab Awards, organisers have revealed.
After Thame fast food fan Dom Stanway-Williams announced in this paper he was nominating his local van Atalay Kebab for the crown of best in the country, awards managers have revealed two other outlets were also put forward: Sami’s Kebab Van in Abingdon and Ahmed’s Bar B-Q in Oxford.
The nominators did not give their names or any reasons why they had nominated those particular outlets.
The winners will be announced at a glittering ceremony in London on Sunday, February 26.
The celebration of take-away triumph in Westminster Park Plaza Ballroom each year regularly attracts Lords, Baronesses and MPs who want a bite of the action.
Last year even Jeremy Corbyn tucked in.
Mr Stanway-Williams, 25, said Atalay Kebab went to 'extreme lengths' to produce a 'ridiculously good kebab', and threw down the gauntlet for other kebab fans to nominate a better proprietor.
