MORE than 1,000 jobseekers are expected to attend a major jobs fair at Oxford Town Hall today.

The Oxford Times Jobs Fair was a big success in February when it attracted more than 1,500 visitors.

It will return to the venue in St Aldate's this morning from 10am.

There were 35 companies seeking to recruit new staff last time and so far 33 employers have signed up to host exhibition stands at today's fair.

Newsquest media sales manager Belinda Rand said: "The Oxford Times Jobs Fair was a great success in February.

"It's a very good opportunity for companies to speak to prospective employees face to face and there will be lots of different types of jobs on offer – both full and part-time."

The fair, which runs until 4pm, will be staged in the main hall, organised by staff from Newsquest Oxfordshire.

Exhibitors will include event sponsors Day and Nightcare Assistance South Central Ambulance Service, NHS Blood and Transport, Tesco, Andrews Property Service, Grundon Waste Management, Age UK, and Hermes Parcelnet.
