SMOKE shrouded a picturesque countryside field this morning and sparked fears from drivers that a wildfire was building.
Photographer Chris D'Agorne snapped striking pictures of the billowing smoke, which he said he saw from the A40 near Widford just before 9.30am.

He said he was not entirely sure what caused the smoke but said it was "more than you would expect" for a bonfire, and suggested it could be a wildfire.
Oxfordshire Fire and Rescue Service has not yet responded to a request for information.
