THIS is the graffiti left by vandals who targeted a new housing development in Sutton Courtenay.
Police were called to Asquith Park, off Milton Road, early on Monday morning last week after show homes and signs on the estate were defaced.
The vandals used blue paint to spray a variety of vulgar signs around the development, including covering the street name with “s*** row”.
Other graffiti included “no houses” over a sign at the estate, which has been at the centre of row between developer Redrow Homes and residents.
Neighbours to the new 64-home estate – one of three developments in the street – have complained the area is becoming overdeveloped.
Milton Road resident Lesley Clements said the vandalism could be related to Redrow Homes’ plans to build another 220 homes in the village.
She added: “I think that someone is very angry.”
Redrow Homes submitted plans for the homes on land off Hobbyhorse Lane last month, and the application has already received more than 100 responses from residents – many objecting.
Redrow Homes spokeswoman Rachel Bruce said: “We’re upset and disappointed that a deliberate act of criminal damage has occurred at our Asquith Park development in Sutton Courtenay, where we are providing much- needed new homes.”
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Hannah Jones said it was believed the vandals caused the damage between 6pm on Sunday and 8am the next day.
She urged witnesses to call the police on 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
