Plans for a 55-space car park at the ancient site of the Rollright Stones will be considered by West Oxfordshire District Council next week.
On Monday, the council will consider plans to turn part of the farmland next to the stones near Little Rollright into a car park for visitors.
Historic England said plans for the car park would be unlikely to result in any harm to the ancient stones, the earliest of which date back to the Neolithic period.
Applicant George Lambrick, of Boars Hill, Oxford, said the car park was needed as the number of visitors to the stones “fluctuates”.
