A new £11m building designed by Iraqi-British architect Dame Zaha Hadid was unveiled yesterday.
The Investcorp Building, in Woodstock Road, Oxford, was commissioned by St Antony’s College to be part of its Middle East Centre and was funded by Investcorp.
The new metallic building bridges two existing ones at the college and was unveiled by Dame Zaha, as well as Sheikha Moza bint Nasser of the Qatar Foundation.
It features a lecture theatre which will allow the Middle East Centre to expand its programme of speaking events.
The Middle East Centre holds Oxford University’s primary collection of private papers and historic photographs on the modern Middle East.
