BANBURY MAGISTRATES

  • Adrian Greaves, 43, of Hearthway, Banbury, admitted stealing three bottles of champagne worth £93.99 from a Morrisons’ store in Banbury on December 31. Given a six-week sentence suspended for 12 months. Ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80 and £40 costs.
  • Ian Gough, 53, of Marlborough Gardens, Faringdon, admitted common assault by beating a woman in Edington Road, Witney on November 10. Convicted of harassment by breaching a restraining order not to contact the victim issued on October 17. He was already on a suspended sentence. for beating the same victim, which began on October 17. Jailed for a total of 16 weeks and told to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80. Restraining order not to enter a house in Farmington Drive, Witney.
  • Paul Byrne, 50, of Foxburrow Lane, Crawley, admitted driving while disqualified in Witney High Street on August 18. Also admitted driving without insurance and without a valid test certificate in the same incident. Given a 20-week sentence suspended for 18 months and told to comply with an 18-month supervision requirement. Told to pay an £80 victims’ surcharge and £650 in costs. Disqualified from driving until passing a driving test.
  • Anna Franklin, 32, of Cornish Road, Chipping Norton, admitted four counts of assault by beating in Shipton Road, Milton-Under-Wychwood on July 5. Also admitted a charge of assault by beating in Witney on December 12. Admitted stealing a Thermos flask, hip flask, wallet, picture frame and purse worth £86 from a Post Office shop in Witney on December 12. Jailed for a total of 22 weeks and told to comply with a 12-month supervision requirement. Issued a restraining order not to contact one of the victims in any way and not to go to Clover Place, Eynsham. Told to pay a total of £66.99 compensation, a victims’ surcharge of £80 and £200 costs.
  • Christopher Knowles, 38, of no fixed abode, admitted criminal damage costing £500 to the rear window of an Oxfordshire County Council minibus worth £500 in Banbury between January 12 and January 13. Jailed for 28 days and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £80.
  • Joshua Williams, 20, of Dover Avenue, Banbury, admitted stealing goods worth £35 from a Co-op store in Rotary Way, Banbury on August 31. Also admitted stealing goods worth £8 from a Co-op store in Mewburn Road, Banbury on November 16. Also admitted stealing goods worth £8 from a Co-op store in Chatsworth Drive, Banbury on November 9. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay £51 compensation and £45 costs.

OXFORD MAGISTRATES

  • Geoffrey Muirhead, 35, of Speedwell Street, Oxford, admitted stealing a bottle of whiskey worth £22 from a Sainsbury’s store in Oxford on February 13. Fined £100 and ordered to pay a victims’ surcharge of £20 and £30 costs.
  • Michael Hinkin, 20, of Lodden Avenue, Berinsfield, near Wallingford, admitted drink- driving in Audlett Drive, Abingdon on December 28. Had 63 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the 35mg legal limit. Fined £110 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Eighteen-month driving ban.
  • Gemma Richardson, 28, of Kelcor Road, Oxford, admitted stealing £18.31 worth of food from Sainsbury’s, in Cowley Road, Oxford, on December 2. Fined £100 and told to pay £18.31 compensation and a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Lyndsey Seale, 34, of Asquith Road, Rose Hill, Oxford, admitted harassing a woman in Oxford by playing loud music and shouting between October 1 and November 26. Given an 18-weekprison sentence suspended for 18 months. Also told to have alcohol dependency treatment for 12 months and be supervised for the same time. Restraining order made in respect of the victim until further notice. Ordered to pay £200 compensation.
  • Martin East, 27, of Weyland Road, Headington, admitted drunk and disorderly behaviour at the John Radcliffe Hospital, in Headley Way, Oxford, on January 24. Fined £72 and ordered to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £50 costs.
  • Michael Mackay, 35, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in a public place, namely SGM, in Cowley Road, Oxford, on January 23. Fined £150 and told to pay a £20 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
  • Mark Owen, 38, of Brinkinfield Road, Chalgrove, admitted drink-driving in Brinkinfield Road, Chalgrove on January 23. Had 56 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, over the legal limit of 35mg. Fined £1,000 and ordered to pay a £100 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs. Banned from driving for 16 months.
  • Joseph Martin-Robinson, 33, of Morrell Crescent, Littlemore Hospital, admitted causing criminal damage to a cordless telephone belonging to the hospital worth approximately £50 on June 12 in Oxford. Also admitted assaulting a man by beating him in Oxford on the same date. Ordered to pay £100 compensation.
  • Carl Buckingham, 31, of Knights Road, Blackbird Leys, Oxford, admitted using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour with intent to threaten or provoke unlawful violence in Grenoble Road, Oxford on January 28. Also admitted causing criminal damage to glasses on the same date in the same location. Community order made with four-week curfew requirement and told to pay £150 compensation, a £60 victims’ surcharge and £85 costs.
