New trains that will carry passengers from Oxfordshire to London, Wales and the South West of England have been unveiled by Hitachi.

The Class 800 trains are scheduled to start running on First Great Western’s Great Western Main Line from 2014.

Each train will have air conditioning, wheelchair-accessible bathrooms, a full kitchen and catering service and CCTV.

Twelve are being made at Hitachi’s Kasado Works in Japan, and the other 110 are being built in County Durham.
