LORRY crashes have closed the A34 and the Oxford Road in Kidlington this morning.

Emergency services are hoping to re-open the A34 northbound near Pear Tree at about 8am.

The A34 was closed after two lorries collided at about 2.30am on the northbound carriageway.

Emergency services have been working to clear the wreckage and the second lorry has been cleared away.

Stagecoach says the crash has caused delays of 20 minutes on its S3 and S5 services.

The last update was the northbound carriageway would be open about 8am.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said the night's snowfall was causi problems with drivers going too fast.

It's been a nightmare morning for commuters in that area north of the city with the A4260 Oxford Road in Kidlington also closed because of a lorry.

The vehicle jack-knifed and the road was closed between Frieze Way and Bicester Road. It is now open.

Meanwhile, the M40 has got significant problems as well.

Traffic southbound is slow between junction 7 at Thame and junction 6 at Watlington due to emergency repairs to a pot hole.

One lane is closed following an accident northbound between junction 4 A404 / A4010 (High Wycombe Handy Cross Roundabout) and junction 5 A40 (Stokenchurch).
