People convicted of offences at magistrates' courts in Oxfordshire recently:

Paul Shakespeare, 37, of Pegasus Road, Oxford, convicted of assault by beating at Malford Road, Headington, Oxford, on July 22. Also convicted of criminal damage to a mobile phone, coffee table and various ornaments in Malford Road, Headington, Oxford, on the same date. Community order made with activity and supervision requirements. A restraining order also made. Told to pay £100 costs and £55 compensation.

Qasim Hussain, 27, of Hurst Street, Oxford, admitted shoplifting four bottles of wine worth £36 from Co-op in Iffley Road, Oxford, on September 25. Must pay £36 compensation.

Jamie Pullen, 28, of Harcourt Terrace, Headington, Oxford, convicted of assault by beating in Claymond Road, Headington, Oxford, on March 8. Sent to prison for four months and a restraining order made banning him from entering Claymond Road, Headington, Oxford, until a further order is made.

Nicola Ewens, 34, of Territorial Way, Headington, Oxford, admitted shoplifting alcohol from the Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, Oxford, on July 29. Also stole four bottles of spirits worth £89.38 from the Co-op in Templars Square, Cowley, on July 30. Asked for two other crimes to be taken into consideration. Given a 12-month conditional discharge and told to pay a total of £120 compensation.

James Garden, 64, of no fixed address, admitted using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress in Cornmarket Street, Oxford, on November 9. Fined £100.

Simon Boswell, 47, of Luther Street, Oxford, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Woodstock Road, Oxford, on November 10. Fined £100 and a £20 victims’ surcharge.

James Mynehan, 23, of Brent Avenue, Didcot, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Broadway, Didcot, on October 20. Also admitted failing to comply with a police order to leave Broadway, Didcot, for six hours on October 20. Fined a total of £150, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £100 costs.

Nicholas Brain, 21, of Cherry Close, Greater Leys, Oxford, admitted taking a car without the owner’s consent and before it was recovered damage was caused to the car in Headington, Oxford, on August 27. Sent to prison for 16 weeks.

Frank Hollywell, 20, of Iffley Road, Oxford, admitted having a knife in Brasenose Lane, Oxford, without good reason or lawful authority on July 22. Community order made with activity and supervision requirements.

Jake Chambers, 20, of Celandine Place, Oxford, admitted supplying one deal of cannabis and possession of cannabis in Blackbird Leys Road, Oxford, on August 6. Community order made with a one-month curfew requirement. Also told to pay £85 costs.

Lee Griffiths, 27, of Wallingford Street, Wantage, admitted assault by beating in Market Place, Wantage on October 28. Fined £100, £100 compensation, a £20 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.

Peter McGowan, 57, of Banbury Court, Vineyard, Abingdon, admitted using racially aggravated and threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Abingdon on July 21. Fined £150, told to pay £100 compensation, a £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs.

Fawn Allsworth, 23, of Giles Road, Littlemore, Oxford, admitted possession of cannabis in Abingdon on August 25. Fined £25, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £35 costs.

John Newman, 58, of Moreton Road, Aston Tirrold, convicted of using threatening, abusive, or insulting words or behaviour with intent to cause fear of or provoke unlawful violence in Moreton Road, Aston Upthorpe, Aston Tirrold, on June 2. Fined £200, £100 compensation, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £250 costs.

Michael Bird, 24, of New Road, Bampton, admitted drink-driving in Monahan Way, Brize Norton, on September 30. Had 51 micrograms of alcohol in 100ml of breath, above the legal limit of 35 micrograms. Fined £250, £15 victims’ surcharge, and £85 costs. 12-month driving ban.

Srikanth Bollampalli, 28, of no fixed address, admitted fraud by false representation after attempting to convince bank staff in Barclays Bank, Market Square, Witney, he had legitimate access to someone else’s bank account intending to expose that person to a risk of loss on November 10. Sent to prison for 12 weeks.

Jlake Preedy, 20, of Mascord Road, Banbury, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Mascord Road, Banbury, on October 25. Fined £75, £20 victims’ surcharge, and £40 costs.

Kurt O’Sullivan, 28, of Town Furlong, Bodicote, Banbury, admitted assault by beating in Banbury on December 11, 2011. Community order made with a supervision requirement. Also told to do 100 hours of unpaid community work in the next 12 months. Told to pay £350 costs.

Lee Rudman, 33, of Blenheim Drive, Witney, convicted of shoplifting meat products worth £55.56 from Co-op in High Street, Witney, on May 20. Also convicted of shoplifting alcohol worth £250 from Co-op in Witney on May 19. Given a six-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months. Also told to do 150 hours of unpaid community work in the next 12 months and pay £200 compensation.

Caroline O’Connell, 33, of Jubilee Court, Banbury, admitted shoplifting meat products worth £30 from Midcounties Co-op in Buckingham Road, Bicester, on July 21. Also admitted shoplifting a Scene It game worth £9.95 and a DVD box game worth £9.95 from the Blue Cross Charity Shop in High Street, Banbury on October 5. Also stole meat products worth £20 from Co-op in Bicester on August 1 and a children’s scooter worth £19.99 from Argos in Lockheed Close, Banbury on March 17. Sent to prison for 42 days.

Jake Purser, 18, of Kings End, Bicester, admitted making 21 indecent photographs of children and possessing an extreme pornographic image between August 28, 2009, and February 28, 2010. Given a six-month conditional discharge. Ten other charges discharged.

Robert Waterman, 32, of The Daedings, Deddington, admitted using racially aggravated words or behaviour likely to cause harassment, alarm or distress in Banbury Railway Station on October 18. Fined £280, £80 compensation, £28 victims’ surcharge, and told to pay £28 costs.
