A MAN, who police believe exposed himself in a sex shop, is hiding behind door 20 of our Christmas criminal calendar.

The Oxford Mail and Thames Valley Police are publishing the faces of wanted suspects everyday in the run-up to Christmas in our Badvent calendar.

And today we feature the face of 36-year-old Sofiane Bayo, who is thought to have indecently exposed himself in front of a woman in the Cowley Road store Simply Pleasure.

The alleged offence happened at 5.15pm on August 12, 2011.

Bayo, who is from Didcot, was identified after CCTV pictures appeared in last year’s Badvent. Now police are hoping for details about where he may be.

Investigating officer PC Paul Jones, of the East Oxford Neighbourhood Team, appealed to Oxford Mail readers for help in tracing the man.

He said: “Following last year’s successful Badvent campaign, we were able to positively identify Mr Bayo as the man in the CCTV.

“If anyone knows his whereabouts, we urge them to get in touch.

“It may have been over a year since this incident occurred but we are committed to seeing the offender brought to justice.”

Anyone with information should call PC Jones on 101 or contact the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at crimestoppers-uk.org.

Suspected vodka shoplifter Jake Goodwin is the latest wanted man to be arrested following our Badvent campaign.

The 18-year-old, who appeared behind door five, handed himself in after seeing his face in The Oxford Mail, police said.

He admitted stealing the booze from Co-op in Cowley and was fined £80 and a £15 victims’ surcharge.

There have now been five arrests since the first Badvent door opened on December 1.
