TWO crashes caused road closures and long delays during rush hour yesterday as freezing fog hit the county.

A pick-up-truck and a lorry collided on Lower Road, on the Bladon side of Long Hanborough, at about 3.47pm leading to the road being closed in both directions.

The driver of the truck was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with a head injury which is not believed to be life-threatening.

There was also a two-car accident at 4.15pm which forced police to shut Marston Ferry Road, in Oxford.

The drivers of both vehicles were taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital, but neither was seriously injured.

Fog was reported by police to be a factor in both accidents.
