Ex-police chief condemns poll

Former Metropolitan Police commissioner Sir Ian Blair has encouraged people not to vote for police and crime commissioners on November 15.

Sir Ian, who lives in Oxford, said the police areas were too big for any individual to properly represent. He said: “I’ve never said this before, but I actually hope people don’t vote because that is the only way we are going to stop this.”

After reading Khan Juna's withdrawal statement, I'll be taking Mr Blair's advice there is no other option. Whatever your opinion of the Police bringing politics into it can't possibly make things better.
