Man jailed for serious assault

OXFORD: A 37-year-old man has been jailed for three years for a serious assault.

Andrew Cribbes was sentenced at Oxford Crown Court yesterday after being convicted by jurors of unlawfully wounding Mehmet Ulas.

The victim needed staples to a head wound and suffered a broken finger.

Cribbes, of Cowley Road, East Oxford, also admitted handling a stolen Ford Transit van.

The offences took place on February 25.
