Woman charged over burglary

A 42-year-old woman has appeared at Oxford Magistrates’ Court accused of carrying out a distraction burglary.

Janet Lestrade, above, of Balfour Road, Blackbird Leys, is charged with burgling the home of a 54-year-old woman in Blackbird Leys.

Magistrates heard that Lestrade was charged with stealing a purse containing cash and bank cards from a house in Erica Close, Blackbird Leys, between 2.30pm and 3.30pm on Monday.

She was then bailed to appear at Oxford Crown Court on May 21.

I have at no point said I'm better, I merely commented that the person in the photo is very masculine!

How many more times is this woman going to get away with stealing from the old and vulnerable before our courts lock her up and throw away the key. In 2009 she got off with a very lenient sentence after robbing my father-in-law in Erica Close in Blackbird Leys who was very frail and died a week later. We thought she was not allowed to set foot back into Blackbird Leys again after the number of burglaries she has already committed in that area. This has opened up some very upsetting wounds for the family.
