Swimmers celebrated the reopening of the refurbished Hinksey Pool on Saturday.

Completion of a project to create new changing rooms and toilets and to improve the pool was delayed due to bad weather.

Jonathan Ree took his 11-year-old daughter Lotte and her friend Anna Stuart, far left, to try out refurbished pool, in Hinksey Park, off Lake Street.

Lotte said: “I’ve been going to Ferry pool in Summertown for a while now and I was really happy to go back into the water.”

The Wolvercote Primary School pupil added: “Every year when Hinksey opens again I have to nag my parents to go, even if it’s pouring with rain.”
