ALREADY the Oxford Mail’s Badvent campaign is bringing in fresh leads for the police, with an arrest made within the first week of the Christmas crime crackdown.
Ashley Appleby, of Sapphire Road, Blackbird Leys, was arrested after an anonymous tip-off to the police.
With three warrants in his name for theft, robbery and breach of a suspended sentence order the 21-year-old was our day five Badvent suspect.
After the call came in on Monday, officers swooped to arrest the suspect in the Blackbird Leys area.
Det Insp Paul Miller said: “We are really pleased that because of information from the public we have been able to locate Appleby who is wanted for three warrants and bring him into custody.
“I encourage people to take a look at the Badvent Calendar to see if they can identify any of the people featured and contact Thames Valley Police so we can send officers out to arrest them.”
