Kukui doorman quizzed after reveller injured

A CITY centre nightclub doorman was being questioned last night over an incident which left a man in hospital with a fractured skull.

Police and paramedics were called to Kukui, in Park End Street, Oxford, at about 12.40am on Sunday.

A 24-year-old man was taken to the John Radcliffe Hospital with a fractured skull. His condition last night was described as stable.

A 29-year-old doorman was arrested yesterday on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He was taken to St Aldate’s police station for questioning.

Police spokesman Chris Kearney said police were investigating claims that the man was pushed over following a minor fracas outside the nightclub and was injured when he hit his head on the kerb.

No one from Kukui was available for comment.

These monkeys on the door need to be reined in. Although licensed they seem to think that gives them the right to smack the hell out of anybody (smaller than them). I hope this thug goes down for a few years, and then his fellow thugs may take heed, and the city will be safer for all of us that like a few drinks without having to worry that a licenced thug might misuse his power to send us to hospital.
