Cancer drug decision delay

The Government’s advisory body, the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence met in Manchester to discuss whether to order the NHS to freely prescribe the life-prolonging cancer drug Sunitinib.

Campaigners in Oxfordshire who have been battling for the right to receive the drug should find out if Nice plans to overturn its draft guidance banning the drug in “three to four weeks”.
