Two teenagers have been charged over a gun attack at Oxford Crematorium which left a man with serious injuries.
A 19-year-old was taken to hospital with a fractured elbow and an eye injury after the attack at the crematorium, in Bayswater Road, Barton, at about 2.30am on Wednesday.
Police believe the injuries were caused by a pellet from an air pistol.
The suspected attackers drove off in an old-style red BMW car.
Tonight, Karn Matthews, 18, of Strawberry Path, in Blackbird Leys, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent, possession of an imitation firearm with intent to cause fear and dangerous driving.
A 17-year-old youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon.
Both were remanded in custody to appear at Oxford Magistrates’ Court today.
Thames Valley Police renewed an appeal for anyone with any information about the incident, or who may have seen the car, to call Det Sgt Darren Cartwright, of Oxford CID, on 08458 505505 or speak to Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
