CLIMBING trees, getting the paddling pool out and picking wild fruit: these are the photos summer memories are made of.

For our second instalment of summer snaps, we asked you to send in pics of holidaying at home, and you did not disappoint.

Lesley Adams, Lucy Webb and Marie Barnett Comley all got us off to a great start by providing bucolic scenes of rural romps in trees and down country lanes.

Mark Ridgway gets bonus points for managing to capture some tropical wildlife without leaving the county, with his red panda at Cotswold Wildlife Park.

Ann Faulkner and Donna Cassettari, meanwhile, needed to look no further than their own sun-bathed gardens for inspiration, and it looks like they had some fun in between the photography.

Piers Burnell and Ritesh Vyas also managed to bring out the best in their backyards, so to speak, with a night-time Riviera and a glorious golden garden respectively.

Ian White took the brief another direction by heading into Oxford to turn the tables on our city's annual influx of visiting photographers.

He did not make any comment but simply called his picture Tourist Invasion.

As always, we will announced this week's winning shot in tomorrow's weekly picture spread, so pick up a paper to see if you've bagged the £25 prize.

More than 240 of you have now joined the Oxford Mail Camera Club since we launched in April, so a massive welcome to everyone who is new.

The standard is pretty high so far, but we take every opportunity to use entries from newcomers and give everyone their five minutes in the frame.

Joining us in our venture is photographic specialists Jessops, which has branches in Oxford, Didcot and Heyford Hill, and which is offering Oxford Mail Camera Club members discounts of up to 30 per cent on a range of products and services.

Our members also automatically qualify for an Oxford Mail Loyalty Card.

Next week we've decided to go topical again, and with clever pupils picking up their brown envelopes across the county this week our theme is Result!

Good luck to everyone picking up theirs this week and next, and good luck to all our photographers!
