Football Association bosses have informed Didcot Town FC they will take no further action over a pitch invasion earlier this month which led to a game being abandoned.

An investigation is under way after Hereford fans raced on to the pitch at the Loop Meadow stadium after Hereford scored an 88th-minute goal to go 2-1 up in the Southern League Division 1 South & West clash on March 4.

Earlier this week three Hereford FC fans received banning orders following the incident.

The club did not specify the length of the order, which can be used to ban individuals from football matches home and abroad for between two and 10 years.

Two 19-year-old men were arrested in connection with the incident and were bailed until April 4 and April 6.

Didcot Town FC said today the FA had informed the club it would take no further action.

A statement on the club's website said: "The club would like to thank the FA on their swift resolution of this unfortunate incident.

"We would also like to thank our loyal supporters for their continued patience and understanding during this investigation.

"The club now considers the matter closed and wishes to concentrate solely on the matches still remaining in the Evo-Stik League Southern Division 1 South and West.

"The club will now await a Southern League decision on whether the game should be replayed or not."
