POLICE raided two properties in the centre of Oxford yesterday morning.

Officers busted their way through the front door of the homes shortly after 11am. Although under a drugs warrant, nothing was found during the search and no arrests were made.

Forensic officers took swabs which have been taken to police headquarters for analysis.

PCSO Matt Autery told the Oxford Mail the raids on the homes in Faulkner Street and Preachers Lane were carried out after getting information from members of the public.

He added: “The warrants were carried out under Section 30 misuse of drugs act. We are quite happy with how things have gone.

"We found nothing significant, but it’s disruption and it lets the community know that we will listen to them and we encourage them to come tell us their concerns.

“We have sent the swabs off for testing, they will either come back as positive for drugs or negative and we will go from there.”

The RSPCA also took part in the raid and checked dogs in the properties over to make sure they were chipped.
