If you're looking for a new electric trimmer or set of bath bombs, auction site Ebay might be one of the first places you would like.
But it's unlikely that you'd expect your new purchases to come straight from Thames Valley Police.
In an effort to get rid of some of the items collected through investigations or lost property at police station, the force has set up its own Ebay page selling off a variety of products.
Among the items currently on sale are:
- Braun Series One Shaver (current bid £10.76)
- Pride Colt Plus Mobility Scooter (£260)
- Lush Gift Set Bath Bombs (£10.78)
Thames Valley Police spokeswoman Jessica Rodgerson said the property sold off may have been handed in at front counters or evidence seized during an investigation.
She added: "Where possible we always try to return property however there are times when this is not possible or appropriate or items are not collected.
"Evidential property is booked in and held in the Evidence Management Unit at the relevant station whilst the investigation is carried out.
"Once all enquiries on an item are completed a decision is then made as to whether it is suitable destruction, donation or can go to auction."
Funds raised by the site go to the Police Property Act Fund, from which charities can apply for funding.
