A vehicle leaked diesel across two roundabouts in Banbury on Sunday evening.
Fire crews were called to Hennef Way just before 8.50pm and had to use absorbent granules on to the road to make the route safe again.
The vehicle had been travelling between Ruscote Avenue and the M40 roundabout when the diesel was leaked.
