FOLK art sculptures and drawings “infused with the psychological and spiritual undercurrents of daily life” are on display at a Cowley Road cafe.

East Oxford artist Eleanor Greenhalgh is staging her first solo show of sculpture and illustrations at the Quarter Horse Oxford where she works.

Miss Greenhalgh, 27, who went to King Alfred’s school in Wantage, and studied art at Oxford Brookes University, said: “The show brings together sculptures of tiny people and drawings in a realist style, infused with the psychological and spiritual undercurrents of daily life.

“While many of the images are drawn from life with striking likeness, others conjure entirely imaginary characters and fantastical scenes.”

The exhibition includes sculptures, drawings and prints for sale and continues until the end of August.

The Quarter Horse at 76 Cowley Road is open until 6pm every day of the week.
